Thanksgiving Break

I can't believe the Thanksgiving break is already over! It started out a little rough for the whole Blome family as we all got the stomach flu on Monday night/Tuesday morning. It was terrible trying to take care of Carter and also each other...thankfully Kathy was able to come over and take care of Carter so Christian and I were able to rest/recover. We were feeling much better by Friday and traveled to Scottsburg for the weekend.

We had a very busy weekend! We were able to see some of my aunts/uncles/cousins that hadn't gotten to see Carter in awhile. He amazed them all with his new found crawling abilities! It was great to visit with my friend Steph and her son Davey on Saturday afternoon. I was able to grill her with some of my mothering questions! :-) Luke and Jenny and Christian and I went shopping and out to dinner at Famous Dave's on Saturday night. Grandpa and Grandma were nice enough to babysit Carter for us. Sunday morning we went to church with my parents and brought Carter with us into the service. He isn't used to sitting in the service since he goes into the nursery at our church each Sunday. He lasted through the singing and then started screaming! I made a quick exit out to the lobby and we stayed out there just to be safe through the rest of the service. :-) Sunday afternoon I got together with some of my friends from high school. We try to get together each year around Christmas and always have a ornament exchange. Even though we don't see each other very often, these girls are the type of friends where you just seem to pick up where you left off with them. I attached a picture of our day together.

Christian and I have so many things to be thankful for! 2008 has brought many changes to our family with a new baby, new house, new job. It has been a crazy year, but one filled with many wonderful blessings! I hope each of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

P.S. Congrats to our best friends Riss and Scottie on their new arrival! Avery Joleigh was born on November 21st, 8 pounds 9 oz, 19 inches! She is so beautiful! We look forward to visiting with the whole family in a few weeks!

New Pictures

The big news at our house this week is that Carter is crawling! He is just starting so his techique isn't the best, but if you put a toy out in front of him he will crawl/scoot over to it! He is growing up so fast!

On the couch with Daddy and Oliver!

This picture cracks me up! He looks so surprised!

Halloween

Here is Carter's Halloween costume! We still haven't decided if he was a dinosaur, dragon, or alligator but he looked so cute!

You can see his tail a little better in this picture. We stopped by Mimi and Papaw's and then by our old neighbors Phil and Judy who are like grandparents to Carter. While we were leaving the house our friends Brian and Jalyn stopped by with Jenesis and Jurnee. They both looked adorable!

This picture is on our front porch with the pumpkins we picked at Jamie and Robert's pumpkin patch. I think Carter is mesmerized by the pumpkins.

This is a disaster we had a few weeks ago. I was getting ready to feed Carter some green beans (you might spot the lid and spoon on the corner of the table). I set the open container next to Carter (I thought out of reach) when I needed to run to the front door because I heard a cat screaming outside...but that is another story...anyway, I turned around to this mess! I'm assuming that Carter attempted to pick up the baby food and this happened.
He looks so innocent!

After a night of trick or treating! Carter is wearing the glow in the dark Halloween shirt his Grandma Smith got him. You might spot Oliver in the background looking a little sleepy himself.

Carter had minor surgery this week in Indianapolis to correct a urinary tract problem. Although the surgery was minor they had to put him under, which was little scary. He couldn't eat for like nine hours which was even scarier. The surgery went very well and Carter is recovering quickly. He just looked so cute in his hospital gown (which was covered in lions and tigers) that I had to take a picture!
Here is Carter showing off with Uncle Luke how he is able to sit up on his own. You can tell Daddy dressed Carter this evening since he is wearing a hoodie!
